While this has nothing to do with our services – I know that many of our clients are interested in natural alternatives to medicine, housecleaning products etc. and also have families where the kiddos are always coming down with something. I’ve commiserated with so many of my clients during the sick season through email, that I thought I’d share an experiment that I am (lovingly) doing with my family. 😀
It’s been about 1.5 years now since I first heard about the benefits of using pure therapeutic grade essential oils. A friend discovered the Young Living line and before sharing her own experiences with me, she put them through the test big time – reason being, she is a medical professional who is paid to give advice to patients everyday. She is not the type of person who ‘should’ be running in the opposite direction away from the pharmacy. After hearing what she has seen in her own family, I couldn’t help but not take the information lightly.
However, I did wait all this time because I just couldn’t shake the unsettling feeling of the slick sales and “direct marketing” with its team incentives and all of that …. I can’t stand selling – and I equally am turned off by sales people ! So Young Living aside and it’s big international business and fancy fanatical seminars and so on….. I’m just putting that out of my mind and am merely, and objectively, going to start trying out the oils with our family around the house – and I’ll share them with you honestly.
In particular, I’m excited to try the THIEVES line. I know many people personally who SWEAR Thieves has stopped sickness from developing in it’s tracks, has helped their gums and tarter when going to the dentist, has cured an ear-infection in their child overnight etc. Sounds too good to be true, and you know what they say on that. Chad is my ultimate skeptic and has been teasing me to no end for signing up for their starter kit…. let’s just see if rubbing a little “peace and calming” oil on his feet will ease his insomnia at night shall we !!! LOL 😀 My kids are super sensitive to scents and are very, very difficult to please when it comes to things like this – so will be fun to see what develops. Maybe I’ll try some on our dog Hana too!
Will keep you in the loop on what happens !!
If you check them out and google testimonials etc and are too curious and don’t want to wait – my YL# is: 1304610 They make you put in a # before you can buy anything from them – retail or wholesale. Ordering is confusing looking – another reason why I waited too. 😉 Once I dove in wasn’t bad at all.
UPDATE: 7/8/13 I have started a NEW PERSONAL FUN blog where I will be posting all YL reviews. If you’re at all curious about these products and want an unbiased opinion on them – head on over to HAPPYFISHSCHOOL.com. I will not be posting any further reviews on our business site. 🙂
