My client Noah Hawthorne – of Noah Hawthorne Photography – is a renaissance man to say the least. He’s not only a very talented and successful photographer – but he’s also a med student – who also travels the world and is involved with various public health projects. Right now he’s actively spearheading a project with the Fundacion Cantaro Azul in La Paz, Mexico. To sum it up – they’re trying to promote hand hygiene, clean water technologies, health education and disaster relief.

Noah’s team had already been blessed by the creation of these fantastic ‘hand super hero who fights germs’ cartoon characters – by “Huevo Cartoon” a Mexican graphic design firm that specializes in cartoon characters. What he needed was a simple but effective flyer/poster that utilized these characters that would attract the attention of the local people to start engaging and promoting the idea of washing hands with their hand sanitizer product. It was a fun project! You can read more about it in their new blog here.

This is what Noah had so kindly written about the flyer/poster design:

“The poster in question was rescued and rejuvenated with the help of Karen Dahlquist of Happyfish Design, a graphic designer from Arizona (USA). We were amazed when her design came back to us – a world better than anything I could have come up with myself. The posters were printed and placed in the field earlier today, and suddenly there were groups of people coming closer to read about hand sanitizer and our project in the community. With a completely professional presentation there was one fewer barrier to our project’s success. Take a look at the final presentation here. We’re proud of it, and think that it will certainly give our project an edge.”
