HAPPYFISH officially began in 1996 with an .html website and small business clients who needed website help – which grew into graphic design projects.

After Chad and Karen were married and back in Hawaii, they were hired by an aviation hiring company to work with their team on their magazine, and family of websites. In 2001, Karen was hired as production coordinator/graphic designer for Kapalua Resort, Maui. There, she managed thousands of design projects for the entire resort (golf courses, hotel, villas, realty, land development, tennis, golf academy, Club, shops, special events, wine & food festival, PGA opening tournament and more) ranging in printed collateral, website renovation coordination and updating, and, well the list went on. Such a great learning experience!!

In 2005, happyfish niched down to serve photography studios with their post processing and album design needs. During this era, Karen design literally 2,000+ stories about people’s lives from all over the world!

Around 2016, happyfish expanded to service a diverse range of industries and markets again for their graphic design needs for both print and on-screen projects. Karen signed up with upwork around 2017 and quickly earned Top Rated status, and today has the new credential of being Top Rated Plus.

The latest expansion of Karen’s creative endeavors is the launch of her new illustration and author website. She is publishing children’s books. This will fulfill a lifelong dream and create a legacy for her family generations to come.
